Mike spent a thoroughly worthwhile day with us, giving senior staff an “inspector’s eye view” on lessons, pastoral and extra-curricular activities as well as casual moments at break, lunch and the end of the day. It was invaluable to see how inspectors will pick up on evidence. Mike provided an excellent briefing to middle leaders, making clear why the inspection needs to be taken seriously and also showing with encouraging optimism how the process is an opportunity to demonstrate with pride how effective the school is.
I think the most helpful thing was the opportunity to talk through sensitive matters to an objective person far removed from the situation, with the added security of knowing it was a confidential conversation.
